Is ECE A the invincibles?

ECE A has been in top form in the on going cricket season. They've won all of their matches expect for one against the hostel team. Some have been won with considerable ease and some matches went on till the end. All in all the team has been playing top class cricket. So is this the team to beat? Are they the true champions of SSN? Are they the INVINCIBLES?

Its hard to answer this question straight away but the team is surely topping the charts. The team has excelled in all departments of the game vis a vis batting, bowling and fielding. The team is very stong in its bowling department with ace bowlers Kiruba,Dance,Fakkir and R.Aravind giving the team important breakthroughs. Part-time bowler Baba needs a special mention.. He was belted for fours and sixes in the last season but this ageing cricketer has come leaps and bounds to improve on his bowling although his retirement his round the corner. The captain and all rounder Kiruba is yet to score a big one but it might not be needed as the targets fixed to them is really ver low be it the 32 off 16 overs against CSE or 17 of 12 overs against EEE.

The bowling is too stong with an arsenal of wicket taking bowlers like leg spinner V.Aravind, Deepak, Datta( though he may be very wierd at times) ,Magesh( has to have an eye on his wides) last but not the least 'Man with the golden arm'-Muralikrishnan.

Though the team's batsmen have not clicked big time its a known fact that when the time comes they'll rise to the occasion. Elegant ArunRaja, the opener of the team has failed to convert starts but he is sure to make it big quite soon. Dude as patient as ever gets the majority of his runs by frustrating the bowlers and though he might be criticized heavily for his poor strike rate the team needs him when wickets fall like nine pins. The wicket keeper batsman Ramakrishnan is the only man in the team who can clear any ground with his mighty hitting. Another opener Charuvagun has been performing consistently for the team although he has been in and out of the team. How could one ever forget the mighty six off Deepan that alomost reached the comp sci dept but for the trees hit by V.Aravind? With batsmen like him and the explosive Fazil and the perfectionist jagan always ready to pounce on the bad balls.. does the team really need anything else?

The new ball bowler R.Aravind has been in excellent form in the season and has been giving early breakthroughs with his impeccable line and length and his off-cutters are unplayable. Dance with his sheer pace and line has been very dominant too. The fielding has been top class too as they have held on to most of the catches. The bench strength is where this team is way ahead of the other teams.. Navin,Mohan,JB,Vignesh,Gokul ready to come into the team whenever they require them and Gopu and Kris who have been the find of this season with some amazing batting performances the team is indeed the cynosure of all eyes.

But what prevents them from being the invincibles is the loss against the hostel team. Though a lot of changes were made to that team a loss is a loss and it was a heavy one indeed but i'm sure the fire in the team will make them victorious the next time these two teams meet and make amends and of course clinch the title of 'THE INVINCIBLES'.
